Overview

The Barista is responsible for preparing hot and cold beverages, educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the highest level of standards for all production preparation
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea
  • Adheres to all company recipes and measurements
  • Produces superior product presentation
  • Keep bar dishwashing sinks filled with correct cleaning solution and levels
  • Maintain inventory of all coffee product and alert a manager for re-ordering
  • Check if brewing equipment is working properly and report any maintenance needs
  • Provide engaged, friendly and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation, and smiling
  • Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials
  • Follow and adhere to all standards set forth by the Department of Health (DOH)
  • Perform other related activities as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or  holidays
  • Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
  • Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients

Requirements:

  • 1+ years experience as a Barista in a similar caliber establishment
  • A high school education is required
