Overview

Assists the Retail Manager in the operations of the RumFish Grill retail shop and oversees the shop during the shift ensuring that all Guests are taken care of in a timely manner.  Assumes full responsibility of managing the shop in Retail Manager’s absence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of duties personally or supervise employees performing duties. Plan and prepare work schedules and assign employees to specific duties.
  • Provide prompt and professional service to Guests with friendly and warm greeting upon their arrival.
  • Assist Guests with purchases by locating, answering questions & showing merchandise. Conduct point of sale transactions accurately and efficiently. Accept cash and credit card payments and/or make change accurately. Post room charges accurately and promptly. Wrap or bag merchandise and invite Guest to return upon departure.
  • Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift, reconciling cash with all sales receipts. Follow and enforce all cash handling policies and procedures as well as with all associates.
  • Assist in the training of new associates.
  • Stock shelves, counters, tables and racks with merchandise and ensure cleanliness and neatness standards are maintained at all times.
  • Assist with coordinating sales promotion activities and prepare or supervise preparation of merchandise displays.
  • Set up advertising displays and merchandise counters, tables and racks to promote sales.
  • Assist with receiving procedures of counting and tagging incoming shipments accurately and efficiently. Restock & display product and maintain neat and orderly stockroom.
  • Assist in formulating pricing policies to ensure profitability of store.
  • Perform audits and/or physical inventories on ongoing basis and assist with reconciling inventories.
  • Assist in ordering merchandise or prepare requisitions to replenish inventory on hand; contact vendors as needed.
  • Assist with back office paperwork and inventory software applications.
  • Ensure compliance of employees with established security, sales and record keeping procedures and practices.
  • Assist with daily, monthly and annual sales and cost analysis
  • Buying responsibilities include but not limited to: attending retail-buying markets, pricing strategies, specific lines of merchandise, buying decision-making to ensure the shop’s image to be consistent and satisfy our established quality/concept standards.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and in coordination with other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • inimum one-year experience in a retail or customer service environment.
  • Continuous standing and moving about the store.
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Handling cash, objects, and products.
  • Point of Sale cash register capability.
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with Guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, giving and receiving instructions, and training.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational skills, multi-tasking and training abilities are used often.
