The Assistant Security Manager is responsible for assisting the Security Manager in coordination of security operations, as well as managing, training, and assessing performance of the entire security personnel. The Assistant Security Manager will help in writing and developing security policies and procedures for the security department, oversee all necessary training modules and procedures for security staff. They may also monitor all unauthorized vandalism and removal of property, review and report accidents that happened within the vicinity, inspect all areas for safety and fire hazard, and file reports on safety precautions. The Assistant security managers are also responsible for conducting internal investigations when necessary, providing courteous service, managing the schedules of security personnel and tracking their attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the activities of the security team and train them to interact with visitors, vendors, and employees.
  • Maintain daily records including incident and accident reports.
  • Regularly patrol and spot check the premises, including outlets, guest areas, and public areas.
  • Spot check security officer's performance.
  • Respond to emergency situations including safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
  • Assist the Security Manager as needed.
  • Promote safe work practices.
  • Initiate preliminary investigations into incidents as needed.
  • Write reports and ensure the accuracy of necessary documentation.
  • Respond to all guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Plan and coordinate security Operations for specific events.
  • Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years' experience in a security field or similar role.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Hospitality experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • CPR/First Aid Certificate.
  • AED Certification.
