Overview

We are seeking a Sommelier to oversee the wine menu and offer recommendations on the best pairings. This Sommelier will supervise wine service, collaborating with winemakers to upgrade selections, and providing wine recommendations to guests.  The ideal candidate should demonstrate a passion for wine alongside a warm, dynamic personality, strong knowledge of food and wine pairings, and exceptional interpersonal skills.  

Responsibilities

  • Create and update wine lists with the chefs and manager 
  • Make informed recommendations on food and wine pairings 
  • Ensure that the wine cellar is fully stocked and manage inventory 
  • Inform guests about the variety of wines available, and recommend wines according to their preferences 
  • Train team members on available wines and wine program 
  • Organize wine tasting events 
  • Comply with health and safety regulations 

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge on old world wine is preferred 
  • Previous experience as a sommelier, wine steward, or in a wine-related luxury hospitality role 
  • An understanding of the wine making process 
  • Available to work weekends, and holidays
