Built in the 1920s, the neo-Gothic landmark building at 1530 Main Street was originally the Dallas National Bank. It dominated the downtown skyline during a thriving era of Dallas banking and West Texas oil booms. Downtown Dallas flourished through the ’80s, but as the 20th century drew to a close, it was a shadow of its former glory. A decade of development deals and massive renovations transformed the then-vacant bank building into a Forbes four-star boutique hotel. Aptly named after the international unit of energy, The Joule brought a charge to downtown Dallas when it opened in 2008. Through a series of further renovations and expansions as adjacent properties became available, The Joule has become a cultural, shopping, and dining destination—a forerunner in the renaissance of downtown Dallas.

 

Overview

The Server Assistant plays a vital dual role in supporting seamless dining operations by ensuring tables are impeccably set and maintained, and by delivering food from the kitchen to guests with precision and grace. This position requires strong teamwork, attention to detail, and commitment to luxury service standards. The Server Assistant works closely with servers and the culinary team to create an elevated, efficient, and memorable dining experience for every guest. 

 

This is for a restuarant opening, looking to fill by 01/19/2026.

Responsibilities

  • Assist servers and hosts as needed to support smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences. 
  • Follow proper sanitation practices, safety protocols, and hygiene standards at all times. 
  • Maintain a professional, gracious, and attentive presence throughout the shift. 
  • Perform other duties as requested by management. 
  • Deliver dishes from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation and temperature. 
  • Announce dishes tableside with confidence, clarity, and professionalism. 
  • Coordinate with servers to ensure correct course timing and smooth service flow. 
  • Assist in marking tables with proper utensils before each course. 
  • Communicate effectively with the culinary team regarding special requests, dietary notes, or timing adjustments. 
  • Clear and reset tables quickly, efficiently, and discreetly following luxury dining standards. 
  • Refill water glasses, replenish bread and accompaniments, and assist with beverage service as needed. 
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining room, polish stations, and service stations. 
  • Polish silverware, glassware, and tableware to ensure pristine presentation. 
  • Restock linens, cutlery, glassware, and dishware in side stations according to par levels. 

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide friendly, attentive, and professional customer service
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of standing, walking, and carrying trays for extended periods
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
