Overview

The Line Cook at Graduate Princeton is responsible for preparing and executing menu items with consistency, quality, and attention to detail in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role supports daily culinary operations by following recipes, maintaining proper food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring timely service for guests. The Line Cook works collaboratively with the culinary team to deliver a high-quality dining experience while keeping their station clean, organized, and fully stocked. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and passionate about food and hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Set up and stock assigned station with all necessary supplies prior to service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
  • Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner to meet service standards
  • Follow all food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations
  • Monitor food quality and report any issues to the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating inventory using FIFO practices
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Maintain proper portion control and minimize food waste
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and equipment maintenance

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) preferred
