TradeWinds Resort is currently seeking a Banquet Houseperson that will assist with the setup, breakdown, and turning of banquet and meeting spaces for weddings, conferences, special events, and internal functions throughout the resort. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, takes pride in creating exceptional guest experiences, and understands the importance of teamwork and attention to detail. With banquet room turns taking place 24 hours a day, flexibility and a positive attitude are essential. Employees working in this department must be available 24/7 and have flexible availability. Most shifts will occur in the evenings.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, break down, and reset banquet and meeting rooms according to event orders and operational standards
  • Arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, linens, audiovisual equipment, and other event-related items
  • Assist with weddings, banquets, conferences, internal resort functions, and special events
  • Support the seamless “turning” of banquet rooms throughout the day and overnight as business demands require
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces, storage areas, hallways, and service stations
  • Transport and properly store banquet equipment, furniture, and supplies
  • Respond promptly to last-minute setup changes and guest or management requests
  • Work closely with Banquet Managers, Event Managers, Culinary teams, and other resort departments to ensure successful event execution
  • Follow all resort safety procedures and proper lifting/handling techniques
  • Inspect meeting and event spaces to ensure setups are accurate and presentation standards are met
  • Assist with inventory and organization of banquet equipment and supplies
  • Provide courteous and professional service to guests and team members at all times
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in banquet operations, hospitality, hotel operations, event setup, or a similar fast-paced environment preferred
  • Must have complete scheduling flexibility, including the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as business demands require
  • Previous banquet, hospitality, hotel, or event setup experience preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment with large groups and multiple events occurring simultaneously
  • Proven ability to safely lift, push, pull, move, and carry heavy objects weighing 50 pounds or more throughout the shift
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours or more per shift
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow setup diagrams, event orders, and instructions accurately
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment
  • Professional appearance, dependable work ethic, and positive attitude required
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing event needs and operational priorities
