The Folding Laundry Attendant is responsible for efficiently processing, folding, sorting, and preparing clean linens and laundry for use throughout TradeWinds Resort. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to maintain a consistent production pace throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Roll and maneuver large laundry bins into and out of the folding area safely and efficiently.
  • Remove clean laundry from carts, bins, or processing areas and prepare it for folding.
  • Fold towels, sheets, linens, uniforms, and other laundry items according to established resort standards.
  • Maintain a steady and efficient pace to meet or exceed daily production quotas.
  • Consistently meet quality and quantity expectations established for the position.
  • Sort folded laundry accurately and place items in designated carts, bins, shelves, or staging areas.
  • Inspect laundry while folding for stains, damage, excessive wear, or items requiring additional processing.
  • Keep the folding area clean, organized, and free of unnecessary clutter or hazards.
  • Safely push, pull, lift, carry, and maneuver laundry carts and bins throughout the work area.
  • Follow all established safety procedures, including proper body mechanics when moving heavy or oversized loads.
  • Communicate with supervisors and coworkers regarding production needs, equipment concerns, laundry quality, and workflow.
  • Work cooperatively with other laundry team members to maintain continuous workflow and prevent production delays.
  • Operate laundry equipment or assist with other laundry functions as directed and trained.
  • Follow resort standards for cleanliness, sanitation, appearance, and handling of guest and resort linens.
  • Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, injuries, or other workplace concerns promptly to a supervisor.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

 

Essential Functions

  • Roll, push, and maneuver large laundry bins and carts that weigh 500-1000 lbs into and throughout the folding area.
  • Lift and transfer linen loads weighing 50 lbs.
  • Quickly and accurately fold laundry while maintaining established quality standards as assigned by management and supervisors.
  • Meet or exceed established daily folding quotas.
  • Maintain a consistent production pace throughout the scheduled shift.
  • Extensive walking with prolonged standing in the same location.
  • Repeatedly stand, bend, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry as required to perform the job.
  • Sustain upper body repetitive movement.
  • Work effectively in a warm and humid laundry environment.
  • Safely handle laundry carts, bins, and equipment.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work area.
  • Follow established safety, sanitation, and operating procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating and using industrial mechanical folders and ironers.
  • Valid Driver License preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to meet or exceed established production quotas.
  • Ability to perform repetitive folding and sorting tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely push, pull, lift, carry, and maneuver laundry bins and carts.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work effectively in a warm and humid commercial laundry environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and established work standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
